Are we staunch and true only in times of war or national emergency? Do we stand behind this nation only when it is convenient or profitable to do so? Do we turn tail and flee in the face of adversity, or even when elements of our own national leadership, as well as the highly positioned or self-entitled in our midst, lose their ability to represent the common good and need?
So what does it really mean to be an American? Do we fight for what we perceive to be right, even against those whom we select, or accept, to positions of trust and power, even when their own interests, agendas, and motivations become less than noble? Do we continue to battle against abusive financial powers as well, or do we place the demands of foreign interests above our own national needs, security and pride?
Do we attempt to rewrite our history, our sacred laws, our mandates, and our own rock-solid principles of morality and true justice - and this, in order to be non-confrontational and the ever obedient team player, even in the face of obvious evil and un-Americanism? “The choice is yet ours, if not for much longer, in my own humble opinion!”
And after all is said and done, are we not true Americans - one and all? For if this is not the case, then we are nothing more than a specter and a dream that has lost it‘s way, for we will have truly abandoned the essence and aspirations of “Our Magnificent Founders!”
