(A Little Twist To My Insanity)

Mankind has been eternally troubled in his search for truth. One would think that “Truth” is a virtue to be respected and sought after, but alas, ever since God confronted Cain and asked: “Where is thy brother?” To wit, Cain responded: “Am I my brother’s keeper,” honesty, and with it - “Honor Itself” has often been left up for interpretation!

Of course, we all know that total honesty is a trait that most people claim, but that few genuinely possess. And like Diogenes, who hunted in vain for that one totally honest man, mankind has been searching for eons for such individuals of sterling character and truthful bearing! And as a matter of fact, even Otto Rahn (the Nazi version of Indiana Jones), spent part of his short lifetime searching for symbols of truth, such as the “Ark of the Covenant” and “The Holy Grail“, for other than noble reasons I am afraid!

Even George Washington, a mountain of a man, who proclaimed as a child that “he could not tell a lie”, is guilty of stretching the truth on more than one occasion. As a matter of fact, if most humans were Pinocchio, their noses would stretch half way around the world! “And no one, save for the Almighty Himself, is innocent of this moral weakness!”

Some people make a really big deal, and a splendid living as well, touting the greatness of truth and real justice! But when even Elements of Our Courts, Portions of the Media, a Few Misguided Pastors, and even the Occasional Government Official, utilize the corrupting power of the lie, and sometimes, just for the sake of lying alone, then that little escapade into a “21st Century Garden of Evil” adequately displays that Cain may have originated the art of lying, but indeed, it was we, his ancestors of the future, who perfected the practice!

Frankly, and considering God’s words in Genesis 6:7, I am occasionally amazed that we have made it this far! See you all at the “Valley of Megiddo!”
