Back at the end of World War II, California began to enjoy an economic and social boom! After that War, those in the military who saw this State for the first time, fell in love with it! Great beaches, rolling hills, pristine mountain ranges, clean air and water, great schools, plentiful employment, and a low crime rate, made this area an ideal place, almost an Eden, to raise a family and grow old in peace! “Unfortunately, what was - is no more, and if our politicians get their way, in another few decades, the “Land of the Amazons (aka - California)” will be a wasteland again, replete with same-sex marriages!? No industry, no opportunity, no potential and no people, save for those who immigrate from the south! “Who knows, maybe the saber-tooth cats, woolly mammoths, and ground-sloth will make a comeback?”
This State once had everything in the world working for it, and to a certain degree it still does! The despoilers, the quick buck artists, the criminals, the laggards, and most of all, the politicians, who have their greasy little paws wrapped around our throats, could not possibly succeed were it not for the apathy, complacency and acceptance of their deeds by the people as a whole, or is that more accurately - the people in the hole?
A proposed increase in sales taxes of 1 % we can handle, and lottery bonds we can probably handle, but the government’s assault against the elderly , our teachers and students is, in my opinion, a capitol offense against all that is left of our State’s potential and honor! And correct me if I am wrong, but did not our State Government promise years ago that the State lottery and casino taxes were a cure- all and a panacea for education? “What is the current definition of a flagrant liar?”
And as far as the gas and other prices here on the Shaky Side, forget it Mack! Like any other criminal, when big business and corpulent politics, finds out that they can get away with murder, they will continue to do so - and so they have! With, I might add, the blessings of our very own (corrupt) and self-serving, Powers That Be!
I once (years ago) wrote a copyrighted book entitled “CIVILUTION!” I submitted it to several publishers who declined it, stating that was too far-fetched. The things that the book foresaw, they claimed, could never come to pass!? “Well don’t look now buster, but in the last 13 years since I wrote the thing, many already have!!”
“We are in the middle of a real mess, and most people (including many within our political and economic system), do not even care!!” As a matter of fact, they seem to relish it and thrive in it!”
