One would certainly think, or at least hope, that those whom we elect
to public office would always be in touch with the will of the
people? Apparently not, if the way that Congress is dragging it's feet on
this New G.I. Bill is any gage!
With only 266 in the House, and 58 in
the Senate (as of this moment) co-sponsoring this Bi-Partisan Bill, you have
to wonder if those who help to create, exacerbate, or prolong wars, really
care about the welfare of their peers who are actually out there in harm's
way, protecting our "Elected Government's" right to live the good
life?
If "Our Military's Finest" are good enough to fight and bleed for
our Nation, then they are certainly deserving of the few benefits that they
are afforded upon their return! And any elected official who does not agree
with this is not (in my opinion) worth the generous salaries that they are
being paid to enact the Nation's business!
If an Intelligent and
Caring Government is the Brain, and We The People are the Soul, then our
Armed Forces are certainly the Arms, the Legs and the Rest of the Body! And
after all is said and done, it is the rest of this gallant body that bleeds
and suffers the most in warfare!
